Hey hey hey! I just got back from Singapore. I’m a bit tired, but I don’t want to miss writing the blog post for this week. One of my new year’s resolutions is to write a new blog post once a week. I already missed one post last month, and I don’t want to miss it again.
Okay, let’s check out my affiliate marketing lifestyle in the latest country I just visited.
First of all, I’d like to thank Internet marketing in general as it allows me to travel to many countries. Although I just got back from Taipei a few weeks ago, I still want to travel again. This can’t happen if my campaigns don’t make a few bucks for me while I’m traveling.
I have been creating PPV campaigns continuously for over three years. Many of them have failed, but I’ve been lucky in that others have been profitable and covered the losses that the failed campaigns created. It takes a long time to build these campaigns, but it’s definitely worth doing.
If you want to have the affiliate marketing lifestyle, I recommend you stick with one internet marketing method and try to fully understand it. Don’t try too many things at the same time. I see many people trying out many traffic sources all at once such as PPC, PPV, Facebook Ads, Mobile, etc., but very few of them are successful. It only takes one method to make $100 a day. So just focus on one thing at a time.
This is the second time I’ve visited this city. There are so many things that have changed because the first time I went I was very young. My friends and I booked the flight ticket last year when there was a promotion which cost us around just $100 for the round trip. Very cheap!
This city is awesome and has a good transportation system. We can visit the main attractions by just using the underground train. The food is very delicious as well. I like the steamed chicken rice here a lot; it’s quite similar to what I ate in Thailand, but it’s more tender. I also had a chili crab at the Jumbo restaurant at Clark Quay too. It was very delicious. I recommend you try these two things if you visit Singapore.
There are many awesome attractions in Singapore too. I visited Marina Bay Sands, Merlion, China Town, Garden by the Bay, and Clark Quay. I think these are must-visit places in this country — the scenery is simply fantastic.
These are some photos I took while in Singapore. They were taken with a Fuji X-A1 with Fujinon XF 10-24mm and Fujinon XF 55-200 mm.
The main objective to come here was actually taking photos for time-lapse videos and selling them to stock photo sites. So, my friends and I spent lots of time checking out the main attractions, like Marina Bay and Merlion.
As I wrote in the old post, don’t put all your eggs in one basket. You should look for another income stream too—especially if you’re making money from affiliate marketing. The earnings can disappear overnight, so make sure you have two to three income streams to prevent any unexpected problems. Making money from selling photos is another thing I do.
You might wonder that why I recommend having two to three income streams because I just told you to focus on one thing at a time. Actually, by this I mean you should build one income stream at a time. Don’t build all of them at the same time because you can’t focus on any one of them in particular.
PPV is the main thing I do. By the time my many campaigns give me a stable income of $100 to $200 a day, I start looking for another thing to do, which is how I got into stock photos. I wouldn’t be able to focus on optimizing my PPV campaigns to reach $100 a day if I had to enhance my photos at the same time.
FOCUS is the most important key to success.
As we all know, there are many ups and downs in affiliate earnings, so what I did apart from enjoying the attractions while I was in Singapore was just checking the stats and reading the StackThatMoney Forum. I didn’t bring my MacBook, so I couldn’t rotate the traffic if some offers were down. Anyway, most of the offers I promote have been in the affiliate networks for a long time, so there is just a few chances that those offers die while I’m traveling.
There were two or three times my campaigns didn’t work well when I traveled. What I did was just ignore them and wait it out. This is because I am unable to do anything about it, so it’s not necessary to be worried. This is also one of the five things I do when offers stop firing. You can read more here: Five Things to Do When Your Offer Stops Firing.
These are all the updates for this week. I hope you enjoy reading this post. If you have any questions, leave a comment below. See you next week!
