How To Build A Huge Email List With PPV

Since I’ve been making money from affiliate marketing with PPV for many years, I’ve seen many ups and downs in this business. One day you might make more than $1,000, but it can also become zero overnight. I’ve encountered this situation many times and it even happened to me just a few days ago.

Why Should You Build an Email List?

My affiliate earnings went down to just $200 a day without any reason. I sent traffic from the same sources to the same offers that have the same landing page, but the results was almost completely different. I’m very lucky that it came back again yesterday with no reason. Anyway, most of the time, it never comes back and I have to rotate my traffic to a new offer which might not perform as good as the previous one. You’ve got to accept these unstable changes if you want to be in this industry.

Anyway, it’s not that good if I have to tolerate this situation often, especially when I’m on a vacation or there is another project I have to take care of. The ups and downs in my affiliate earnings always distract me and I can’t concentrate 100% on my other work. So, that’s why I’m considering taking my business up to the next level with list marketing.

How List Marketing Is Good For The Long-Term Business

meandpatric2List marketing is what I’ve been interested for a while. A few weeks ago I attended the Internet to Income seminar by Patric Chan, one of the most well-known list marketing experts on earth, and learned many things from him. His main strategy for making money online is list marketing. He has more than 200,000 subscribers in his Aweber account, although I don’t think he has only one account. Most of the time, he promotes his own products or affiliate products through this list. Imagine if 10% of the subscribers open the email he sent and 10% of them click the link in the message – there will be 2,000 visitors going to his product page. Let assume that 10% of visitors purchase the product, there will be 200 conversions just from sending an email. Is that good?

Remember, you can send the email several times. It’s not just one-time traffic like we usually do nowadays. We have to purchase traffic from various traffic sources, send visitors to the affiliate offers, and when it’s converted into a sale, it’s just done. But email marketing is different. Once you have subscribers added to your list, you can market to them for as long as they stay subscribed to your list. I think it’s really awesome.

Anyway, it requires time and effort to build that huge email list so why not start now?

Building An Email List With PPV Step By Step

AffPlayBook started the List Building Contest a few days ago and it’s a good chance for me to start building my list seriously. I’ve read many follow-along threads from many members in this forum and found many interesting ideas. If you have no idea how to do this, I recommend that you join this community and attend this contest. You can use the coupon “9D7CE918” to get a $10 discount every month.

Here are some follow-along threads I just captured a moment ago.

Well, I’ve been promoting many offers using PPV for a long time so I know it’s good for lead generation. It can let people submit their credit card information, so why can’t we just get their email? It should be much easier. You can follow my steps here to start building your own list.

1. Market Research

The first thing to do is to research and find the market you want to do. You might start by checking the top offers in CPA Networks or a niche you’re passionate about. There are many interesting markets such as weight loss, beauty, making money, and so on. Select and start on only one niche at a time.

2. Find A Free Gift

In order to get an email from people easily, one thing I usually do is give them something for free. It doesn’t have to be a great product. Just a two-page free report related to the market you choose is fine. A PLR eBook is my first choice since you can edit and put your name on it.

3. Prepare Autoresponder

Create your account at Aweber. I recommend the autoresponder service here because it allows you to add affiliate links in the email. Also, they provide many useful functions to manage your list. Once you sign up, create your first list in there.

4. Create Squeeze Page (Opt-In Page)

Next, you have to create the squeeze page or the opt-in page which people will submit their email from. If you don’t know how to code, then go to Fiverr to find a programmer who can get it done for you. Just send him the code you get from Aweber, headline, and benefits you’re going to put on the squeeze page. Spend your time thinking of an effective headline. It’s very important.

5. Write Follow-up Messages

This is where your money comes from. After the subscribers are added to your list, they will receive these follow-up messages. There are usually messages for the next two weeks after they subscribe to your list. Start building good relationships with them and not try to sell too hard. You might offer some products to them on the second or third day with your affiliate link.

6. Set Up The PPV Campaign

Now it’s time to send the traffic to your squeeze page. Let’s say your squeeze page is a CPA offer’s landing page. Set up the campaign in your tracking software so you can track which targets or keywords give you a good conversion rate. Also, keep split testing your squeeze page too in order to find one that gives you a good opt-in rate.

These are all basic steps you can follow to build your list. Keep optimizing your campaign to get more subscribers at a lower cost. Also, check the conversion performance of your newsletters too. Try to write better sale letters and find products that fit your subscribers.

I’ll be really fascinated to see how this goes for you. It is getting more and more expensive to build a list and this might be a great way to build a list for a lot less.

Yup, but the quality of the list might be lower than you get from Solo ads. Anyway, it’s worth a try 🙂
